Synopsis: In an industrial wasteland of the near future from the past, Marcus and Lynette live in a small, run-down apartment. Today, Lynette decided she’s ready to leave Marcus and move out, only to come down with a strange illness that same night. Now, she wants Marcus to take care of her. Soon after, strange worms begin appearing from little black marks on her body and Marcus’ mental state begins to rapidly deteriorate. It’s only a matter of time before the worms begin finding their way around the apartment and also around Marcus. Is it some kind of invasion or is Marcus just sick too?
Back-notes: This was our first-ever HD film. After binge-watching some David Lynch classics, we wrote a trippy, mind-bending short film set in the near future, but styled everything to look like it was back in the early 90’s just to make it uncomfortable. Harsh lighting and desaturated colors were used to match the character’s mental state and classic horror cinema. Then we threw in a twist at the end to bring it all together…for some of you. But what does it all mean?
